What we collect

Your email, password (hashed by Firebase Auth, we never see it in plain text), display name, handle, bio, avatar, and anything you post — commit text and screenshots.

How we use it

To run Compile: show your posts to other people, power notifications, and keep your account secure. We don't sell your data or hand it to advertisers.

Where it lives

Everything's stored with Firebase (Google Cloud): Auth for login, Firestore for posts and profiles, Storage for images.

Images

Compile only accepts image uploads (PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, capped at 5MB). Anything you upload is public once attached to a public commit — don't post screenshots with sensitive info in them.

Your controls

Edit your profile any time in Settings. Delete a commit and it's gone from the feed. To delete your account entirely, contact us — we're a small team, so it's manual for now.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll post it in the Changelog.
